This new version of the tales of Mowgli, the jungle child, is told in two parts. In the first part young Mowgli learns the way of the Jungle from the great animals around him, and is kidnapped by monkeys. The second part shows a grown-up Mowgli and the difficulties of living in two worlds, the world of animals and the world of man. His struggle is underscored by chants and songs taken from the poetry of Kipling. This vigorous play invites the use of masks, live sounds and improvised music.
